Is hiring of senior candidates an issue or not?

Here, we are bringing a few observations which, in our opinion, dominate this topic.

What prejudices do senior candidates encounter:

  1. Senior candidates have a narrower specialization in a specific field. Employers fear less flexibility, bu also high ambitions due to previous experience.
  2. Today's labor market is changing. Years of experience may be less important, than the ability to adapt to new processes.
  3. Lack of willingness to try new.

What, on the contrary, could be perceived as an advantage of senior candidates:

  1. Stability and loyalty, gratitude for the offered opportunity and the effort to keep the job as long as possible.
  2. Willingness to accept shorter working hours, interim projects, or substitution of employees during maternity leave.
  3. Calmness and balance when dealing with crisis situations.
  4. An opportunity for us to learn to accept diversity in opinions, attitudes and communication.
