Recommendations from HR experts for companies

  • Involve in the selection process tandems of a Recruiter and a Hiring Manager
  • Support the system of HR Business Partners, who will "live" in intensive contact with the assigned departments
  • Support age diversity within teams - team members learn to respect different approaches and ways of working
  • Work with prejudices against different generations, teach colleagues to listen to each other
  • One of the main tasks of the HR Department is to promote respect and mutual listening - not to be a "policeman" to be a "sunshine"
  • Foster strong leaders with an open mind - it's not just HR's job, leaders/managers should play an active role in supporting multi-generational collaboration
  • Consider a system of internal "interim experts" who will be "deployed" on projects within the company
  • De-emphasize maximum performance and potential a bit. Not seeing only "stars" in teams, also appreciating the contribution of "standard performers"
  • Take into account other needs of different generations when setting up the benefits system (e.g. access to a fitness center - versus extra vacation to care for parents in old age)
